Vicki C. Grant, PhD, MSW
Vicki Grant is Vice President of the Southern Institute on Children and Families. She is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified by the George Group. Dr. Grant has held leadership positions in three national programs supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She served as National Program Director for the Foundation’s Supporting Families After Welfare Reform initiative and as Deputy Director for the Foundation’s Covering Kids and Covering Kids & Families initiatives. She served as the Director of Policy and Research for the Southern Institute on Children and Families and for Sarah Shuptrine and Associates. Before joining Sarah Shuptrine and Associates, Dr. Grant served on South Carolina Governor Richard W. Riley’s health and human services staff as Deputy Director for Budget, Policy Analysis and Special Projects.
In 1985 Dr. Grant was awarded a Pew Doctoral Fellowship in Health Policy by the Florence Heller Graduate School at Brandeis University. In 1992 she received her Doctor of Health and Social Policy from Brandeis University. Dr. Grant received a Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina in 1979.

Laura A. Heller
Laura Heller joined the staff of the Southern Institute on Children and Families in January 2001. She is the Deputy Director for the Process Improvement Center. Prior to joining the Southern Institute, Ms. Heller held positions with the South Carolina Department of Social Services, including Information Resource Consultant and Training Coordinator Instructor in the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System Development Project.
Ms. Heller is certified as a Quality Improvement Associate by the American Society of Quality. She also has trained as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Ms. Heller received her bachelor’s degree in social science from South Carolina State University in 1974.
